Saturday, April 28th 2018, 08:00 PM  --  Saturday, April 28th 2018, 10:00 PM

Almost two decades ago Mark Johnson and Tom Gray began playing slide guitar together — Mark on bottleneck and Tom on lap steel — in clubs, coffee shops and barbecue joints around Atlanta. The name Delta Moon came to Mark on a pilgrimage to Muddy Waters’ cabin near Clarksdale, Mississippi. Delta Moon quickly gathered a wall-full of local “best” awards. After winning the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2003, the band widened its travels to include the US, Canada, and Europe. Bassist Franher Joseph joined Delta Moon in 2007, adding a sweet pocket and rich bass vocals. Delta Moon’s latest album, Cabbagetown — named for one of the band’s favorite Atlanta neighborhoods — came out in 2017. The band has been touring incessantly behind it, visiting 9 countries since spring. No Depression describes Cabbagetown as having “great grooves, thought provoking lyrics, infectious hooks, sweet slide guitar work and mountains of superb tone.” DeltaMoon.com

CICADA RHYTHM (Modern Folk)

Saturday, May 5th 2018, 08:00 PM  --  Saturday, May 5th 2018, 10:00 PM

When Cicada Rhythm hit the road in support of their 2015 debut, they were a homespun, stripped-down folk duo, armed with songs that mixed acoustic instruments and soft dynamics with the intimate charm of two harmonized voices. Three years later, bandmates Andrea DeMarcus and Dave Kirslis have upsized their sound considerably with Everywhere I Go. Recorded in a string of studios across the southeast, it’s a snapshot of a band on the move, with new members filling their lineup and a louder set of influences propelling their sound forward. There are roots-rock tunes, slow waltzes, politically-minded lyrics, front-porch folksongs and backwoods ballads, all delivered by a group of road warriors who’ve cut their teeth not only in the writing room, but onstage, too.www.CicadaRhythm.org

An Evening With Shawn Mullins (Grammy Nominated Americana!)

Friday, May 11th 2018, 08:00 PM  --  Friday, May 11th 2018, 10:00 PM

Friday, May 11th at 8pm: Shawn Mullins’s critical breakthrough came when 1998 Soul’s Core album shot him to fame on the strength of its Grammy-nominated No. 1 hit, “Lullaby” followed by AAA/Americana No. 1 “Beautiful Wreck” from 2006’s 9th Ward Pickin’ Parlor. His song, “Shimmer,” was used in promotion of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and was included on the Dawson’s Creek soundtrack. Mullins also co-wrote the Zac Brown Band’s No. 1 Country tune “Toes.” Mullins most recent album, My Stupid Heart, was released in 2015, the theme of which, Mullins says, can be summed up most succinctly by the song title, “It All Comes Down To Love,” the guiding force behind just about every song on the album. Mullins is currently embarking on a recording project in conjunction with the 20th Anniversary of the release of his album Soul’s Core, which came out July 17, 1998! He always perform songs from Soul’s Core in his live sets including Lullaby (Rockabye), Gulf of Mexico, Shimmer and more. Visit: ShawnMullins.com
